Important Medical Information

Gorilla Glue must be kept out of reach of children and animals. It must be stored in a safe location. Gorilla Glue is an eye and skin irritant and may produce an allergic reaction by skin contact. Do not swallow. Do not get in eyes. Do not get on skin or clothing. Do not microwave or heat. May cause sensitization by inhalation and skin contact. Individuals with chronic asthmatic conditions should consult a physician prior to using product. May cause gastro-intestinal blockage if swallowed.

Gorilla Glue is a polyurethane glue. All polyurethane glues foam when they come in contact with moisture and may cause gastro-intestinal blockage if swallowed. This is not unique to Gorilla Glue, but true of all polyurethane glues. If you think there has been a case of ingesting the glue, seek medical or veterinary advice immediately.

I heard a story about Gorilla Glue and dogs, is it true?

Gorilla Glue is a polyurethane glue. All polyurethane glues foam when they come in contact with moisture and may cause gastrointestinal blockage if swallowed. This is not unique to Gorilla Glue, but true of all polyurethane glues. If you think there has been a case of ingesting the glue, seek medical or veterinary advice immediately.

For this reason, polyurethane glues must be kept out of reach of children and animals. Store Gorilla Glue in a safe location.

Can I heat the glue?

Do not microwave or heat Gorilla Glue. Do not leave in a hot car. If your glue has hardened, the only recommended method to a flowable consistency is to place in a cup of warm water for several hours. The shelf life of Gorilla Glue is one year after opening.

What should I do if I get Gorilla Glue on my clothes?

Gorilla Glue cannot be removed from clothing easily, so we recommend you wear old or protective clothing.

What should I do if I get Gorilla Glue on my hands?

Gorilla Glue can temporarily stain skin. In some instances, it is a skin sensitizer. If you are predisposed to skin reactions, please take the extra precaution. If you do get the glue on your skin, try using a dry cloth or paper towel to remove the glue (particularly if the glue is still tacky). If that doesn’t work, try washing with soap and warm water, or using an exfoliator with a gritty texture. Dry your skin and apply lotion. We do not recommend using any kind of alcohol or acetone. This actually strips the skin of its natural oils, which means the glue is more likely to stick.

Are Gorilla Super Glue vapors harmful?

Gorilla Super Glue should be used in a well-ventilated area. Inhalation may cause irritation to the nose, throat and respiratory tract. In the case of irritation, move to fresh air.

What do I do if I consume Gorilla Super Glue?

Do not induce vomiting.

Saliva will cause Gorilla Super Glue to polymerize, or harden, in mouth which means the adhesive usually doesn’t make it into the throat or stomach.

If lips are bonded together, use warm water to gently separate. The enzymes in saliva will actually help to break the bond, so patience is the key. Do not use acetone or solvents on or near your mouth. Do not attempt to pull the area apart as this can tear the skin. Seek medical attention.

Gorilla Super Glue should be left out of reach of children and animals.

What if Gorilla Super Glue comes in contact with my eyes?

If you are exposed to high quantities of super glue for long periods of time, it is best to wear safety glasses to avoid irritation. Should Gorilla Super Glue come in contact with your eyes, flush thoroughly for 15 minutes. Do not attempt to pull apart any bonded eyelid. Seek medical attention.

How do I remove Gorilla Super Glue from skin?

To remove Gorilla Super Glue from your skin, soak the bonded area in warm, soapy water or acetone. The key is to be patient and NEVER pull the area apart.

Gently wiggle the area to allow the water or acetone to penetrate the bond. After soaking, the adhesive should come off easily. Keep in mind acetone can strip your skin of oils, so apply moisturizer after removal.

What if I ingest Gorilla Epoxy?

For ingestion, seek medical attention immediately. Keep out of reach of children and animals.

Are Gorilla Epoxy vapors harmful?

Gorilla Epoxy should be used in a well-ventilated area. Inhalation may cause irritation to the nose, throat and respiratory tract. In the case of irritation, move to fresh air.

What if Gorilla Epoxy comes in contact with my eyes?

For eye contact, wash with water for 15 minutes and call a physician for immediate medical advice.

How do I remove Gorilla Epoxy from skin?

Gorilla Epoxy is a very strong adhesive and is solvent resistant. Removing cured, dried adhesive is difficult to do. Acetone will soften the epoxy, however, full removal of cured adhesive will require mechanical means, such as scraping, rubbing, sanding, or others.

For dried adhesive removal on skin in particular, we recommend rubbing or washing area with exfoliating soaps.

Uncured Removal for Skin: Acetone, isopropyl alcohol, 2–3 washings with soap and water. Reminder: Cured glue requires mechanical means, such as rubbing or washing with exfoliating soaps.
