Axe Handle

Has anyone successfully used Gorilla Glue to affix a heavy maul axe head to a fiberglass handle? Typically quick hardening epoxy is used in this application but my local hardware store swears that Gorilla Glue will do it as well or better. Any experience with this out there?

Re: Axe Handle

Since this would be a steel to fiberglass application, I would recommend using Gorilla Epoxy. Do take the time to scratch up each surface first before applying the epoxy.

Gorilla Glue will not stick to stainless steel or plated metal. These surfaces are too shiny and the glue will not penetrate so I would stick with Gorilla Epoxy.
